Krzysztof Knittel studied sound engineering and composition at the Frederic Chopin State Higher School of Music in Warsaw. He has worked at the Experimental Studio of Polish Radio since 1973 and at the Center for the Creative and Performing Arts at State University of New York at Buffalo in 1978. He composes symphonic, chamber, stage, electroacoustic and computer works that have been performed in most European countries, Asia, North and South Americas. He took part in many art performances, built sound installations and played in improvised music groups. His compositions were written for the National Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio, “Amadeus” Chamber Orchestra of the Polish Radio, Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, Camerata Silesia Choir, for soloists – Elisabeth Chojnacka, Olga Pasichnyk (Critics’ Prize at the Warsaw Autumn Festival for her performance in “The Heartpiece – Double Opera” composed together with John King), Janusz Olejniczak, Tomasz Stanko and many others. Concerts dedicated exclusively to his music were held in Barcelona, Budapest, Cracow, Kromeriz, Leipzig, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Warsaw. Among his honors are the Solidarity Award in Music (1985), Norwid Price in Music (2003), Polish Composers' Union Prize (2003). In 2005 he was awarded by Polish Minister of Culture with “Gloria Artis” Silver Medal. He was also awarded by the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts in New York (1998). He has worked in improvised music groups with such musicians as: Andrzej Bauer, Franziska Baumann, Jeff Beer, Ed Bogaard, Marek Chołoniewski, Axel Dörner, Uwe Dierksen, Uli Fusseneger, Tim Hodgkinson, Carl-Ludwig Hübsch, Pere Oliver Jorgens, John King, Włodzimierz Kiniorski, Martin Klapper, Jacek Kochan, Werner Kodytek, Jerzy Kornowicz, Mieczysław Litwiński, Albert Markos, Laszlo Melis, Marek Mietelski, Ernesto Molinari, David Moss, Victor Nubla, Uwe Oberg, Olga Pasichnyk, Zdzisław Piernik, Adam Pierończyk, Jan Pilch, Andrzej Przybielski, Kazimierz Pyzik, Andrey Smirnov, Tomasz Stańko, Tadeusz Sudnik, Raymond Strid, Birgit Ulher, Wojciech Waglewski, Marcus Weiss, Tadeusz Wielecki, Frank Wingold, Niels Winther, Carlos Zingaro, Agata Zubel.

Jaremczuk Jurij Grigorevich was born in Novokuznetsk (Russia). Today he resides in Lviv, Ukraine. In 1978 he completed the Saxophone Class at Jazz Performance Department at Rostov Institute of Art. He performed in Kim Nazaretov’s big band as an instrumentalist. Yaremchuk is both a composer and an instrumentalist. He plays tenor-sax, soprano-sax, clarinet, percussion, piano, he is a master of voice performance as well. He is working in different genres (free jazz, contemporary music, improvised music), contemporary technique of sax play (multiphone, slap, double staccato). He can be recognized by his bright sound and brisk technique. In his solo concerts he prefers free improvisation with the use of contemporary playing technique. His music has sufficient rhythm and melody, it is full of humor and philosophy. Yuriy Yaremchuk wrote music for theater, participated in numerous avant-garde performances with artists, actors and modern dancers. In different projects he performed together with a number of famous jazz musicians: Claudia Binder and Marcus Eichenberger; Jim Menesis, Ray Andersen, Fred Frith, William Parker, Hamid Drake and Rob Brown, Klaus Kugel, Heinz-Erich Godecke and Hans Shutler, Alex Nowic, Vladimir Chekasin, Arkadij Shilkloper, Vladimir Miller, Dror Feiler, Tatashi Endo, Sainho Namchilak, Ezas Mikashys and Vladimir Tarasov, Vyacheslav Nazarov, German Lukyanov, Vladimir Volkov, Vyacheslav Gayvoronsky, Andrei Razin, Sergey Letov, Vladimir Makarov, Mikhail Zhukov, Alexander Nesterov, Ken Vandermark, Tim Daysi and many others. Yaremchuk is a participant of numerous jazz festivals, happenings, events, fests of new improvised music.

Alexey Kruglov was born in Moscow region. He is a Russian saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and poet. He is one of the leaders of the Moscow musical scene, the founder of the ensemble Krugly Band. He performs his own instrumental music and directs plays to the poetry of Russian poets – Pushkin, Lermontov, Mayakovski, Block, Esenin, Visotsky, etc. He also writes music for films. In his projects Alexey Kruglov uses many artistic devices, such as parallel developments, images, references, allegories, metaphors and allusions. For a saxophone player of such a relatively young age he has achieved a lot: he graduated from the Gnesin Russian Music Academy, he has won several prestigious competitions in Eastern Europe (such as Crystal Note in Riga, 2000) both as a performer-improviser and composer. He performed with conductor Vladimir Ziva with symphony orchestras as well as small chamber music ensembles (The New Music Group and others), he played with different actors like famous Emmanuil Vitorgan, Valentina Talizina and painter Grisha Bruskin. He also collaborated with the greatest Russian poet Andrei Voznesensky and ballet-master Vladimir Vasiliev, drama-producer Boris Millgramm. Now Kruglov collaborates with drama-producer Dmitry Krimov playing in his performance called Mixed Techniq, with classical musicians (including Tatiana Lanskaya from Belcanto fund), folk and classical choirs (with some of Pokrovky`s choir) and cooperates with many jazz musicians. In 2004 Kruglov studied in USA at The Brubeck Institute – University of the Pacifiс and perfirmed at the Monterey Jazz Festival with Christian McBride Ensemble. He also played with Jimmy Heath, Gary Bartz, Lisa Dillan, Eldar Dzhangigov, Mads Kesby, Aril Leonard, Alex Sipagin, Joe Lovano, Katia Cruz and others. He took part in Leo Records International Tour (2011) and organized Leo Records Festival in Russia (2012).

Timo Kämäräinen is one of the most respected and talented guitarists in Finland. He recorded and performed with top bands and artists, such as: Hector, Vesa-Matti Loiri, Five Corners Quintet, Pepa Päivinen, Ismo Alanko Säätiö, Sakari Kuosmanen, Husky Rescue, Kaija Koo, Mikko Kuustonen, Jukka Perko, Tuomari Nurmio, Radio Symphony Orchestra, UMO Jazz Orchestra, Severi Pyysalo, Eero Koivistoinen, Olli Ahvenlahti, Jukkis Uotila, Emma Salokoski, Aki Sirkesalo, Leningrad Cowboys and more. He has also been a soloist in contemporary pieces, such as: Enrico Chapela’s Antagonica with Estonia’s Nyyd Ensemble and Erkki-Sven Tüür’s 5th Symphony with RSO (Radio Symphony Orchestra of Finland). His studies include Helsinki Pop-Jazz Conservatory and Sibelius Academy Jazz Department. He has composed music for films, TV and theatres and also released five albums of his own, including a collection of instrumental compositions.

Tomek Chołoniewski Tomek Chołoniewski graduated with honours from Music Academy in Cracow. His main focus is improvised music. He performed at many festivals in Poland and abroad with many musicians (John Butcher, Phil Minton, Frederic Blondy, John Edwards, Le Quan Ninh, Włodzimierz Kiniorski, Jean-Herve Peron, Tomasz Stańko). He also performs in a play “Testament Optymisty” ('Optimist's will') directed by Dominika Knapik in Cracow's theatre Łaźnia. Chołoniewski also writes music for animated films by Marta Pajek as well as for the play “Teatr Anatomiczny” ('Anatomic theater') by Amareya Dance Theatre. He also leads music workshops at Uniwersytet Dzieci (Children's University). His debut solo album has just been released by Mathka label.
